How often should you get lip filler?

One of the first questions clients will ask is: How often am I going to be getting lip filler?

Let’s start with what not to do.

Should you be getting your lips done every 4-6 months?! NO! It is a myth that hyaluronic acid fillers require retreatment every 4-6 months. The truth is that there are remnants left behind each time you receive lip filler making the time in between appointments longer and longer. At Aloha Aesthetics, we will always treat based on assessment and never simply based on time. After building your lips over 1-3 appointments to reach goal or capacity during the first year, reassessment is done every 12 months. This is not to say you will need to be treated every year but assessed once a year.  

Depending on multiple factors (age, metabolism, product, number of treatments, etc.), everyone’s duration can vary from 12 months all the way to 24 months. Discuss duration and retreatment with your healthcare provider to have a full understanding of how to maintain your desired result.
